Multidimensional Student Center Space

UNR’s new Pennington Student Achievement Center brings together many of the university’s student-centered services in one central location. Built on the site of the old library, the new center is the hub of student activity and exemplifies the university’s culture of student success.

Classrooms needed to be configurable yet still connected for technology.  Lounge and study areas needed to provide spaces for individuals and groups.  And, everything needed to stand up to student use.

Throughout the building, students find ample spaces to study, meet and engage. Areas include collaboration rooms, computer lounges, casual break-out spaces and a meditation lounge. From color and finish selections to a custom S-shaped seating configuration, KI provided hands-on assistance.

Study and lounge areas use Hub seating and screens to delineate space and provide privacy. High-tech classrooms have Enlite tables with custom power towers, which provide easy-to-use, plug-in power yet allow the tables to be reconfigured as needed. The custom S-shaped configuration is ideal for small group study or break-out sessions and is a compelling visual accent.
