Public Library
A public library in suburban Pittsburgh has unveiled its renovated and expanded space after a yearlong construction project focused on accessibility and modern community design. Guided by community input, the transformation of the existing space includes a new accessible lower-level entrance, an open and welcoming lobby, and the removal of the central spiral staircase to create a more functional layout. The addition of a café introduces a warm, inviting atmosphere complemented by comfortable seating for social interaction and casual work. A dedicated teen space now features flexible, movable furniture to support both collaboration and individual study, while the mezzanine reading level offers panoramic views paired with cozy lounge seating for a relaxed experience.

“We are ecstatic to start writing the next chapter in Northland’s story. The [new space] continues to serve our mission and to position the library as a third space for the communities we serve.” - Amy Steele, Executive Director of Northland.
